Cecil Transit

Cecil Transit is Cecil County's primary public transportation provider. Fixed Route serves the Perryville, North East and Elkton areas. Deviations may be made up to ¾ mile upon request. All deviations must be scheduled in advance through Cecil Transit's transit office.

Cecil Transit Demand Response Service

This is a countywide, origin-to-destination transit service for all ages, which must be scheduled in advance. The On Demand Response operates Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., on a first come, first served basis.

Cecil Transit Taxi Voucher Program

Charles County Medical Assistance Transportation

The Medical Assistance Transportation Grant Program is funded by the State of Maryland and coordinates transportation services for Medical Assistance recipients who reside in Charles County, and who are in need of transportation to access medically necessary services. This program provides "last resort" transportation for ambulatory, wheelchair, and stretcher-bound recipients who have no other means available of transport to get to and from medical appointments. This service is made possible through VanGO's partnership with the Charles County Health Department, which receives the state funding for MA transportation and contracts with VanGO to provide the service.

Charles County Specialized Services (Subscription)

VanGO offers Subscription Services for persons needing transportation to dialysis centers and senior centers based on where a customer lives. The County is divided into service zones that determine when VanGO can provide transportation to and from the centers. VanGO has worked closely with the senior and dialysis centers to give VanGO customers priority when scheduling service and operating hours. If due to space limitations a dialysis center is not able to accommodate a customer's need to coincide with the availability of VanGO transportation, that person will be placed on a waiting list for the service days and times needed. Until they can be accommodated on the needed shift, VanGO may be able to offer service under other specialized transportation services, such as Demand Response or Medical Assistance transportation.

Charles County Specialized Services: Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Transportation

VanGO's Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Transportation Service provides general purpose transportation to disabled persons who are prevented from using VanGO's fixed route public transportation system due to their disability. The 1990 Federal Americans with Disabilities Act requires transit systems to provide comparable paratransit service to disabled persons up to 3/4 of a mile around existing fixed public routes (ADA area). Departure locations and or destinations outside ADA areas may be considered for Demand Response service. ADA services operate Monday through Saturday from 6:30am-10:00pm, depending upon service area. The service costs $1 each way or an All Day Pass may be purchased for only $2. Personal Care Attendants ride at no charge. Additionally, one other person may accompany the customer and is charged the same fare as the passenger. All persons must have the same origin and destination as the customer. Be-ready times are provided within a 1 hour window, which is established when the customer calls to make their trip reservation.

Charles County Specialized Services: Demand Response

Demand Response is a door to door service for seniors 60 and older, and disabled persons near a VanGO public transit route or unable to use the route due to a mental or physical impairments. Service is only to destinations within Charles County, and to make the service available to as many people as possible, individuals are limited to 12 one way trips per month.

Charles County VanGO

VanGO is a countywide transportation system committed to providing safe and reliable transit and quality service for Charles County residents. VanGO offers public transportation routes that operate on fixed schedules and more specialized transportation services for those persons unable to utilize the public transportation system. VanGO is administered by the Charles County Department of Community Services, but operated by a private contractor.

Charm City Circulator

The Charm City Circulator (CCC) is a fleet of 30 free shuttles that travels four routes in Baltimore City. The Charm City Circulator services residents, downtown employees, students and tourists and anyone else who wishes to ride. The shuttle is intended to reduce congestion and greenhouse gas pollution by offering a convenient, reliable and eco-friendly form of public transportation. The Harbor Connector service offers a free ferry across Baltimore's harbor to help connect riders to additional parts of the city.

City of Bowie Curb-to-Curb Transportation

The City of Bowie offers curb-to-curb transportation for Bowie seniors age 55 and older to the Senior Center, to medical appointments, to scheduled shopping locations, and to senior clubs and other locations on a priority basis. Transportation is offered only within the Bowie city limits.

City of Hyattsville Call-A-Bus

The City provides transportation service to seniors and people with disabilities. By reservation, the Call-A-Bus picks up residents at the curb in front of their home, takes them to their appointments anywhere within six miles of the City, and then returns them home. The cost is $2 each way, and care-givers/companions ride free. Registration is also free, and can be done by calling 301-985-5020.

DC Circulator

The Circulator's distinct red buses are unlike any other public transit service around town--with low floors, big windows and multiple doors for easy on-and-off service. Also, passengers don't need a bus schedule; the Circulator comes every 10 minutes and each ride only costs $1. Metrorail riders using SmartTrip cards are also eligible for discounted transfer fares.

DC Streetcar

After more than 50 years since streetcars last serviced the streets of Washington, DC, the District Department of Transportation (DDOT) is bringing them back. Launched in February 2016, DC Streetcar facilitates travel for District residents, workers and visitors by complementing existing transit options and by creating neighborhood connections where they currently do not exist.

DC VA Medical Center Shuttle Service

The DC VA Medical Center has a contract with Battles' Transportation. The Battles' Transportation representatives are stationed at the Customer Service counter in the atrium. This transportation is prearranged on vans equipped to handle wheelchairs.

Delmarva United Way Veteran Transportation Program

Veterans living in Dorchester, Talbot, Kent, Queen Anne's and Caroline Counties and needing a ride to mental or behavioral health appointments only may ride at no cost to destinations in those counties and to locations in Baltimore and Perry Point. Delmarva Community Transit (DCT) attempts to use existing public transportation when possible and when they cannot, they will provide door to door service. 24 hour notice is required. Veterans aged 60 and older living in Dorchester, Talbot, Kent and Caroline counties and needing a ride to medical appointments may ride at no cost to destinations in those counties and to locations on the western shore.

Disabled American Veterans (DAV) Transportation Program- Baltimore Medical Center

Eligible Veterans who are in need of transportation to and from clinic appointments at the Baltimore VA Medical Center can contact the DAV Transportation Program Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at (410) 605-7000, extension 6733. The DAV Transportation Program is located on the 1st floor of the Baltimore VA Medical Center in room 1D-161. To be eligible for transportation services with the DAV Transportation Program, Veterans must meet the following criteria: Have no other means of transportation available to get to the Baltimore VA Medical Center; and Able to board and disembark a vehicle independently. Requests for transportation to the Baltimore VA Medical Center should be made at least 72 hours in advance of scheduled clinic appointments. The DAV Service Coordinator will arrange transportation via government vehicle based on availability of vehicles, authorized volunteer drivers and seating space.
